Pack 310 Families, we have an excellent variety of Summertime events planned for 2018.  

Summertime Events Attire:  Pack 310 T-Shirts & Caps

This Summer, our amazing Cub Scouts will have the opportunity to earn 
TWO ✌ Right Sided Uniform Shirt Pocket Flap Awards:

Summertime Award 
(Attend 3 or more Pack 310 Summertime Events)


Outdoor Activity Award 
(Attend a BSA Camp PLUS Rank Specific Requirements - See below)

          Pack 310 Cub Scout Summertime activities are great opportunities to wind down, relax, and enjoy spending time together in the great outdoors.  Feel free to invite friends and family (siblings welcome) to come along and join in on the fun.  In support of our thriving local Girl Scout Programs & Volunteers, Pack 310 will continue to provide family friendly activities for boys going into Kindergarten (Lions) through 5th grade (Webelos / Arrow of Light) during the 2018 - 2019 elementary school year.

Rank-Specific Adventure Requirements:


TIGER: Complete the Backyard Jungle adventure from the Tiger Handbook, and complete four of the outdoor activities listed below.
WOLF: Complete the Paws on the Path adventure from the Wolf Handbook, and complete five of the outdoor activities listed below.
BEAR: Complete the Bear Necessities adventure from the Bear Handbook, and complete six of the outdoor activities listed below.
WEBELOS: Complete the Webelos Walkabout adventure from the Webelos Handbook, and complete seven of the outdoor activities listed below.

The 2018 Pack 310 Summertime Events will Fulfill the Following Outdoor Activity Award Activity Requirements:


  • Attend a BSA Day Camp or Resident Camp (Cabrillo Watersports Center)
  • Participate in a nature hike in your local area 
  • Participate in an outdoor activity such as a picnic or park fun day (Silent Film Night)
  • Explain the buddy system and tell what to do if lost. Explain the importance of cooperation (Cabrillo Watersports Center)
  • Attend a pack overnighter. Be responsible by being prepared for the event. (Cabrillo Watersports Center)
  • Earn the Summertime Pack Award (attend 3 summertime events)
  • Participate in an outdoor aquatics activity. This can be an organized swim meet or just a den, pack, or family swim. (Cabrillo Watersports Center)
  • Participate in an outdoor campfire program. Perform in a skit, sing a song, or take part in a ceremony. (Cabrillo Watersports Center / Trask Fall Pack 310 Camping)
  • Participate in an outdoor sporting event (Disc Golf-A-Thon)


 Lincoln Elementary Campus Beautification 

is coming up on Saturday, May 12, 2018. 

Date/Time: Saturday, May 12, 2018, 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM

Location: Lincoln Elementary

Notes: Join in on the fun in helping spruce up the greenery and prep for Lincoln's Ope House!  We will be revitalizing out campus with re-planting, weeding, and watering to make Lincoln's Open House as beautiful on the outside as it is on the inside with all of the amazing classroom projects created by Lincoln Lions over the past school year.  Light refreshments provided for all volunteers.

Bring:  sunscreen, hats, gardening tools, gardening gloves

🌠 FRIDAY, April 27th
Mars Rovers, Space Exploration, & Star Gazing Party


  • ARRIVE:  5:30 - 8:00 pm  (Note:  5 pm for family portraits)
  • THEME:  Discovering the Wonders of Space Exploration, Stars & Constellations
  • WEAR:  Cub Scout Uniform
  • WHERE:  CV Park (open grassy field area, near dog park)
  • BRING:  
    1. Recycled materials and building materials (Ex: Duct tape) to create Mars Rovers using items in your recycling bins (paper towel tubes, TP tubes, small boxes, plastic containers, etc)
    2. Telescopes, Binoculars, Blankets to lie down on and star gaze, warm layers
    3. BYO Family Picnic Dinner & Drinks
  • UPLOAD: Star gazing apps, Constellation apps on your phones / tablets

Meeting Activities:
    • 5:00 - 5:30 pm Family Portraits
    • 5:30 Welcome & Friends of Scouting Information
    • 5:35 - 6:35 pm STEM & Scout Photo Rotations
Groups:  I-Bears,   II -Wolves,   III-Webelos, Tigers, & Lions

Station 1:  Groups Create Mars Rover's Made of Recycled Materials (Each Cub Scout Family to bring Recycled Materials / Duct Tape / Etc.)

Station 2 A&B:  JPL Guest Scientists & Space Exploration

Station 3:  Scout / Den / Family Photos Station
  • 6:35 pm Group Presentations on Mars Rover Creations
  • 6:45 pm Break for BYO Picnic Dinner
  • 7:15 pm  - 8 pm Star Party (Bring Blankets, Star Charts, Telescopes, Binoculars, Star Gazing Apps on tablets / phones).

  • Katie Emery, Pack 310 Alumni Parent, will be available to take family portraits as well as Individual Scout, Den & Pack Group Portraits during our April 27th Pack STEM Meeting
  • Plan to arrive at 5 pm for Family Portraits

  • After the photo shoot, Katie Emery will send out a link to an online album where you can pick the photos you would like to purchase.
  • Prints are $30 each and available in these sizes:  5x7, 8x10, 8x12, Set of 12 Wallets
  • All prints are professionally printed on Lustre-coated paper, and mounted on styrene.

🚀   Rocket Academy Cub Scout Family Adventure  🚀

April 27-29, 2018
The Verdugo Hills Council (VHC) Rocket Academy Cub Scout Family Adventure is scheduled to launch on Saturday, April 28th.

It's a great opportunity to un-plug, relax, and enjoy the great outdoors.  In addition to building and launching the rockets (kits provided - bring stickers / tape to decorate), there are all sorts of other outdoor activities as well - and did I mention that meals are included?

In order to earn the Outdoor Activity Award, one of the requirements is to attend a BSA Scout Camp such as the VHC Rocket Academy Day Camp.  This is a great way for your Scout to meet this requirement and earn the award.  Check out the link below for more details on the Rank Specific Outdoor Activity Award Requirements.


Per person WITH Rocket:  $40 Saturday Use only
Per Person without Rocket:  $35 Saturday use only

🔭 SAT, April 21st: Mt. Wilson Observatory Private Group Tour

We are looking forward to the fantastic weather in store for us this Saturday during the Mt. Wilson Observatory Pack 310 Group Tour.  Our tour guides have informed us that they have been able to secure a tour of the 150 foot Solar Telescope during our Tour this weekend, in addition to many of the other awesome astronomy buildings, research labs, and telescopes.
  • $10 per person (Pack Subsidized Event; Adults $15, Child $12)
  • RSVP and Payment via PayPal (info below)
  • ARRIVE:  10:00 AM

Our Private Group Tour Starts at 10:30 AM Sharp
Meeting Location:  Pavilion / Cosmic Cafe (See Map)

Please plan for some additional time to allow for any unexpected traffic, purchase the National Forest Parking Pass, Use the Restroom, etc. so that we can start the tour on time.

  • WEAR: Cub Scout Uniform
  • PARKING:  National Forest Pass needed for parking (purchase at Mt. Wilson, Big Five, REI, or Shell Gas Station on Hwy 2 headed up to Mt. Wilson).  
  • BRING: Water bottles, snacks, picnic lunch, sun screen

Webelos II Bridging Ceremony Friday, 3/23




Friday, March 23rd, our departing Den 4 Webelos II Scouts will
bridge from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts and receive their Arrow of Light
awards in a formal ceremony.
These boys have worked very hard for the last five years, and you are
invited to help them celebrate their achievement. We encourage you to
join us and show your support for their dedication to the scouting
program and our community.
We will also say farewell to our departing Cubmaster, Mr. Nate Willits.
Please attend in full uniform.
